Windows Home Server includes a built-in web server so you can remotely access your server and files. The default home page for this built-in web server is typically a friendly splash screen page with a simple link to a logon page where anyone with a valid account (ex. family, friends, etc) can logon and view/access the files they have permission to access. Through the home server settings, you can even customize this page to change the default title and displayed text from "Windows Home Server Web Site" to whatever you'd like (ex. "The Johsnon's Home Server").
On the Acer Aspire easyStore H340, the default page is an Acer branded page that includes a link to the default Windows Homer Server page, but also a link to easyStore support and downloads and a link to the Acer website. This is Acer's attempt at shameless self promotion ("look everyone - buy Acer!").
To change the web page to the default Windows Home Server page:
- Remote desktop (terminal service) to the home server
- Open Control Pael | Administrative Tools | Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
- Expand Internet Information Services | YourHomeServerName (local computer) Web Sites |
- Right click on "Default Website" and select "Properties"
- Open the Documents tab
- Highlight "Default.htm" and click the "Move Up"button to move this page to the top
- Click the OK button
- Right click on "Default Website" and select "Stop"
- Right click on "Default Website" and select "Start"
- The default web pge of your home server should now automatically redirect to the default Windows Home Server page

| Manually deleting all print jobs from a Windows 2003 server | Posted at 6/1/2009 9:04 PM | Have print jobs stuck in a printer queue and won't delete no matter what you do? To resolve (for Windows 2003, your OS may differ):
- Stop the Print Spooler service
- Delete all the files in the C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers\ folder
- Start the Print Spool service
NOTE: This wil delete ALL print jobs from all connected printers on the server.

| My memories of the band "Rogerson Circle" | Posted at 4/25/2009 7:18 PM |
I was in the band Rogerson Circle with Junior (year must have been 1998). This was an american cover band that only lasted a few months (we had trouble finding a good bass player and then a main vocalist). The band consisted of myself (main guitar), Junior (vocals, backup vocals, main drums), John Pereria (main keyboards, backup vocals, drums), Jen Veilleux (main vocals - http://www.classmates.com/directory/public/memberprofile/list.htm?regId=530103461), and ? (don't remember this guy's name at all - main bass, vocals, backup vocals). The band was named after the street Junior's house at the time was on (Rogerson Circle - Bridgeport, CT) and which was also the place where we practiced.
As Rogerson Circle, we practiced for months but only played 1 gig at a bar I believe in Fairfield. We did semi-professionally record a 4 track album of cover songs and I have uploaded all of these songs (MP3's) to my website, jesseweb.com. You will need to register to access (listen/download) the music: registration is free and easy - click on the REGISTER link in the upper right and then follow the instructions. Once you have registered and logged in, click here to access the music.
The 4 songs are:
- "Love Rollercoaster" by Red Hot Chili Peppers: Junior is the main singer here and I believe played the drums
- "Another one bites the dust" by Queen: Junior sings backup vocals and I believe played the drums. Listen to the end of this song when I say the word "PLOW" (which is a funny reference from the movie "Dead Man on Campus" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man_on_Campus - where the character Matt Noonan talks about a dream he had and then says "PLOW" a few times). You can then clearly hear Junior's unique laugh along with myself, John P, and others.
- "Man in the box" by Alice in Chains: Junior sings backup vocals and I believe played the drums. We (Junior, John, and I) also played this song on occasion in the band Illusions.
- "Zombie" by the Cranberries: Junior sings backup vocals and I believe played the drums
Maybe John P has a better memory than I do of Rogerson Circle and can help fill in some of the blanks above. I was in 2 bands (Illusions and Rogerson Circle) with Junior (and John P) and while Rogerson Circle was only together for a short period of time, it was the most fun I ever had playing music and the most fun I ever had together with Junior. | |

When attempting to connecting my IPhone to my WPA-PSK network, the IPhone saw the network (SSID known) but failed to accept the password (Error: "Unable to join the network"). The problem is that WPA-PSK is case sensitive. Once I entered the password with the correct case snsitivity, the IPhone connected. | |
